An Ultimate List of Baby Gifts All New Parents Secretly Wish For

The baby shower not only marks the first celebration of a newborn infant’s life, but generally it is a time when friends and family shower the new addition with baby gifts that will help ease the transition of becoming parents.

But what do we get them if they already seem to have everything? What will parents actually use over and over again, and thank their lucky stars that they have you as friends?

Well, look no further folks! Up ahead are some of the most original and useful baby gifts out there that could please mom, dad AND baby!

Munchkin Nursery Projector & Sound System

When my best friend and her two small children drove six hours to stay at our house, we only had our son’s small nursery and a futon mattress to offer them to sleep. Thankfully, she brought this trusty sidekick with her to help her baby nod off while her toddler practised kung-fu. The week after they left, I bought one off Amazon, and it hasn’t been shut off since. It’s been over a year and it’s still going strong. You can find it here.

Oh, and you’re welcome.

Tuffo Water-Resistant Outdoor Blanket with Carrying Case

So multi-purpose it’s ridiculous! Whether it’s at the beach, on your deck, at an older sibling’s soccer game or at the park, your baby will have a safe place to practice rolling over and army crawling. Not to mention it’s also machine washable!

Nursing Shirts (or Gift Certificate)

They are hard to find and expensive, but every single breastfeeding mom out there has worn their nursing shirts (and bras!) until they are close to rags. Another great option are stretchy tanks to put under regular shirts!

Wubbanub Infant Plush Toy Pacifier

Not just a cute face – the weight of this plush toy helps to keep the pacifier in and also prevents it from getting lost. While all parents should learn their infant’s feeding cues and should not use soothers instead of feeding or interacting with their baby, it would be wise to keep one on-hand in case baby becomes inconsolable. If that ever comes to be, Wubbanub to the rescue!

A Cleaning Service

This is a great gift idea from co-workers – have everyone pitch in to buy a Molly Maid service for however long you can afford. Trust me, you will all be in the good books for sure!

Food For A Year

Leave out a calendar at the baby shower, and have each attendee write their name on a week, starting after mom’s due date. Each week, have someone brings a dish or two for the parents to freeze or cook. This also is a great way to space out visit to make them more manageable.

Best. Idea. Ever.

A Travel Bottle Warmer

This Munchkin travel bottle warmer silagra 50 mg just plugs into your car adaptor and heats up a bottle in minutes flat. Super handy for pumping mama’s whose babies are used to warm breast milk, and formula fed babies too!

Sibling Ride-Along Board for Behind the Stroller

This is perfect for those moms with a preschooler who has just become a new sister or brother. Instead of buying a brand new stroller – get them a glider board to attach!

Battery-Operated Nail Trimmer

There is nothing new parents like less than having to cut a newborn baby’s nails! Offering them a safe and stress-free way to cut their baby’s nails is like offering them a parenting jack pot. Score!

Munchkin Mesh Feeder

These are great for teething babies! Pop some frozen berries or a breast milk ice-cube in it, and baby can go to town safely while their sore gums receive some icy, much-needed relief.

Anything Homemade

Are you crafty? For most new moms, the shower gifts they will cherish most will be that quilted blanket made by Nana or that diaper cake made by her co-workers. Can’t put two knitting needles together to save your life (amen, sister)? Check out for some original, hand-crafted ideas!

Travel System

If you’re looking to be a big spender or go together as a group, this is one of the most useful purchases you could make. Basically anything that helps the parent’s leave the house with baby easier is a no-brainer.

Ergobaby Carrier

I just upgraded from the Snugli to an Ergobaby, and it was night and day! The Ergobaby is a complete back saver, especially when you’re carrying around a 25 pound fussy, teething toddler. Help the parents out by investing in a quality carrier early on. Extra bonus of being considered “Hip Healthy” for baby!

Baby Bullet

While I just used the regular Bullet version that I already had, I have heard countless moms rave about the Baby Bullet and how easy it makes feeding homemade baby food to their infants. This is apparently a parenting must-have!

Aden & Anais Swaddle Blankets

So, so useful whether it be for swaddling, breastfeeding in public, burping, shading, changing… The list goes on and on. And of course they come in so many adorable patterns too!

Dancing Shoes

The perfect shower gift for obvious reasons… Need I say more? Check them out here.

The VIB (Very Important Baby) Gift Basket

Do you want to give the most epic baby shower gift ever? Give the gift of Munchkin! It is truly ridiculous what is included in this basket, and at $150 US, it’s a steal of a deal. From playtime to feeding time to bath-time, this bag will have baby covered. Check it out here!

Omg food for a year!!! Some of these are spot on. I never used a bottle warmer. But the sound machine and projector we still use.

I know, I love that idea and if everyone pulled together could be done very easily.

A friend organized food delivery from various friends for two-three weeks (after the initial week home from the hospital.). It was amazing! Although, I love the idea of it being spread with once a week! Wow:)

This is the greatest list I’ve ever seen! White noise is a must for us, but we’ve always used an app on old phones. And I would have scoffed at the projector until this past week. My mom sent one for the twins and the absolutely love it. I want one in my room too!
